maurizio pappalardo

Born at Trieste in 1964, graduated in Architecture at Rome University “La Sapienza” with a graduation thesis written at the “Technischen Hochschule in Darmstadt.

He immediately focused his activity on the field of architectural planning and design at various levels, cooperating with prestigious international studios.

He specialises in planning and designing of complex structures, industrial and executive buildings, museums and important restoration and conversion works, also practising in private residential buildings.

Between 1995 and the year 2000 he lived and worked in Germany.

During this period he worked with Arch Stephan Braunfels studio, who is in charge of planning and designing the Modern Art Gallery, Munich in Baviera and of the Bundestag buildings in Berlin.

In 1997 he starts a long collaboration with the Architect, Guido Canali, which lasts, with some breaks until 2004 and for whom he takes care of, together with other works, the planning and design of the HypoVereinsbank Directors’ Offices, Munich, the Prada factory at Valvigna (AR)and the new Maglificio Gran Sasso factory at S. Egidio alla Vibrata (TE) which was awarded the Honourable Mention of the gold Medal for Italian Architecture 2009.
He collaborates with Guido Canali on the project which won the International Competition for the Restauration and Conversion of the Museum Complex of the San Paolo Convent, Parma and project for the International Competition for the former Misericordia Hospital, also in Parma.

From 2000 to 2001 works with the Architect Massimiliano Fuksas.
He designs the Mareo complex at Rimini, the Head office of the ASI, Italian Space Agency, Rome and the Commercial and Entertainment Centre, for the International Invitation Competition, Berne, Switzerland.

From 2005 to 2010 he worked with Arch Piero Sartogo in Rome. He is responsible for the planning and design and coordination of the studio. In addition he is an integral part of the Projects Design Team on: l’Ammiraglia Winery (immagini) of Marchesi Frescobaldi, Magliano (GR), Tuscany, The Conference Centre of the International Fund For Agriculture Development (IFAD) in Rome, the New Annexe of the Canadian Embassy in Rome and supervises the final working drawings for the New university Building Bertalia Lazzaretto, Bologna.

From 2008 to 2012 he is the lecturing professor on “Construction Laboratory”, and “Architectural Technology II” at the First Faculty of Architecture “Ludovico Quaroni, at Rome University “La Sapienza”

From 2010 he is a founder partner of mp2a.
